The Art of Noticing is GREAT. I discovered via Cafe Anne (i guess pay it forward). Learning so much on Substack by trying to understand inspiration and awareness. Thank you. I'm going to try to keep this in my awareness as I figure out my writing.
This is so inspiring! I am currently working on creative a safe improv writing space for young writers and non-writers in my city in India. The value of prompts and quirky expressions is highly underestimated. Thank you for this!
Oops the picture was meant to be the update! The tree is back up, I'm not sure i it's the same one, repaired (that's what I think) or a new one. Not much decoration so far but it's upright at least :)
Well, I've never heard of flotsam and jetsam before, though another "Sam", Sam Adams is quite popular around here in Boston. So, I looked those words up, and I learned something new.
Loved the idea of a back story for a pidgeon! Reminds me of the book about some birds in the Boston Public Garden, "Make Way For Ducklings". I am going to make up a story about the next gang of wild turkeys I see, they are ubiquitous around here.
Honestly, the idea of someone's ashes being made into an album is very creepy to me, so I will consider what would be the best soundtrack .
Trash day can be interesting. It is fun to see the stuff people throw out.
When I am waiting in a long line at the grocery store it is fun to see what people are buying and try to imagine their lifestyle.
By the way, Velcro was invented by someone who got the idea from a burr stuck to his clothing.

Ah! Thanks. I thought it was the same picture from an earlier post. My noticing skills weren't so good this time!
LOL no no I should have been clearer that this was a new pic. Will do next update ;)

I did know that about the Velcro inventor but that connection did not occur to me. I love it! Thx as ever!
I don't think of you as a rando – you are one of my most important parasocials – but I am a rando to you, and just want to say, I appreciate you :)
You're very kind!! Thank you :)
