Huh, And ...
A pleasingly curious conversation; new "Waking Up" sessions; and a TAoN audio-essay trial run
Hello from New Orleans, where I have three things I hope you’ll want to hear.
First, I had a great conversation recently with Lynn Borton, on her radio show and podcast Choose To Be Curious. It’s definitely a TAoN kinda show, so worth checking out — and I really enjoyed talking to Lynn about attention, curiosity, and how they connect. (More on that below.)
Listen and check the show notes here. More about the show and its many impressive past guests here.
Second, I have a new batch of “sessions” in my audio series on the popular app Waking Up. I’m guessing some of you know about this, since I’ve heard from plenty of TAoN readers who found their way to the book or newsletter from Waking Up. But if you’re curious about the app and/or my series there, check it out with this 30-day free trial.1 (I think that link will lead to my series, but there’s a ton of other stuff on the app, from guided meditations to interviews.) I’m really happy with the new batch!
A TRIAL RUN OF TAoN AUDIO
These two bits of news actually play into the third bit. I’ve really enjoyed the sessions I’ve recorded for Waking Up, and they’ve gotten a nice reaction. So I have wanted to experiment with audio on TAoN — not doing the same thing, exactly, but working with voice. And by chance, the conversation with Lynn proved to be the perfect inspiration.
So here’s my first attempt at what I’m thinking of as an audio essay, on the subject of attention and curiosity. (It will explain today’s headline.)
